White Vinegar as a Fabric Softner

by Mel
(London)

We use white vinegar as a fabric softner. We use about half a cup full to soften the clothes. As a bonus, it also keeps our washing machine lime-scale free and the stops the build up of the black stuff in the washing detergent drawer.

We don't find our clothes smell of vinegar at all! Sometimes we'll add a few drops of essential oil to the vinegar to add a bit of scent, but not every time. Lavendar is particularly good.

Why not give it try? It'll save you a fortune on softner and you can use it for many other things. We use simple white, distilled vinegar.
