Household cleaning tips that make a difference

A few good household cleaning tips that actually work are always beneficial, especially when they can save you money. Washing powder, dishwasher tablets and the branded cleaning products are really quite expensive, so how can reduce our shopping bills whilst not reducing the performance of our usual products?

Last week my friend was in the supermarket and spent over £20 on some dishwasher tablets, laundry washing liquid and fabric softener. Ouch! And that only lasts a month in their house.

In this day and age, we love the science behind the products. Many of the branded products on our supermarket shelves use the power of science to sell to us. It 'wows' us and makes us think that the traditional routes for cleaning aren't as good and it allows the manufacturers to charge an extra 'premium' price.

Well, we want to turn that on its head and we want your best household cleaning tips that save you money. After all, our grandparents kept clean houses without the need for our 'power' cleaners! Whether your tips use traditional ingredients such as vinegar, salt, bicarbonate of soda or olive oil; or are techniques for getting the job done faster or cheaper, we want to know your secrets for a sparkling home that are kind on the wallet and kind to the planet.
