Buy Secondhand Children's Clothes (From Charity Shops)

by Emma

New kids clothes cost a fortune and with kids growing so quickly, you can easily end up spending lots after a growth spurt.

Every so often, I pop into my local charity shop to see what they have in my kid's age range, and what they have in the next size up.

Usually, I can spend less than £10 and get at least 4-5 items, which are hardly worn and really good quality. The same items, new in the shops would be 2-3 times the price.

This is particularly the case for kids under 18 months as they're growing so fast. They're hardly in the clothes for any length of time and so there's usually loads of wear left in them.

The other good thing is you know that the money is going to a good cause.

Finally, my local charity shop often has 2-4-1 sales, so I spend half as much! It's also really good for little toys.
